The surface of the slide-out hood has a defective painting. Basically the paint peeled off. Please take a look at the pictures Ive attached. Note this is not a mechanical damage The paint was removed during the regular cleaning by a simple kitchen sponge.

Great ExtendaVent but ridiculous bad controls

I bought it 6 weeks ago to replace my old microwave . The LG was very attractive and promising so I bought it and after the time I have enough experience to share with potential buyers. One of the best features is the ExtendaVent which almost doubles the size of exhaust fan effective area removing the moisture and smells from cooking on the stove with high efficiency and low noise levels its genius and rare function and actually works great. Multiple fan speed settings are helpful also. The look is very modern and clean LED lights works well. It would be the dream microwave but there is one really annoying problem. All the controls are hidden under black glass door and practically invisible until they lightup and to get them glowing need to either open the door or touch some of the invisible buttons Its ridiculous that there is no ON button or ON spot glowing all the time as the clock for example is on and glowing displaying time 24/7 . So if you want to turn light over the stove or turn the exhaust fan or even turn on the microwave to for example heat up food you already placed in earlier you need to open the door or randomly touch the glass door to turn the illuminated controls ON . Usually when you cooking your hands are not perfectly clean and dry so realistically you have to clean the microwave door every time you touching it allover to find the hidden controls. Its so inconvenient that I really want to replaced the microwave with different one. Hard to believe that otherwise almost perfect product can be turned down by something little and stupid but very important on other hand. The person who designed the extended vent is a genius but the person who forgot about ON button should be fired on the spot.

Absolutely Love this Microwave1

This microwave is beautiful to look at very high-tech in appearance. The only thing that shows up on the black door is the time. When you open the door the menu lights up on the door and there is also one posted inside the microwave. After youre finished with the microwave or the light fixture these options on the door turn off again. There are so many features on this unit that I havent had the time to experiment with many of them but so far every feature I have used has been easy. The only negative I can mention is that when I want to turn on the light that shines over the range I have to open the microwave door in order for the light options to appear. The options stay lit until I turn off the over-the-range light. I just wish there was an option on the front of the microwave door to turn the light on without having to open the door each time. Other than this minor issue I absolutely love my new microwave.

Great microwave with awesome functionality. For anyone wondering this unit is 100 backlit so the buttons disappear when not in use. It makes for a very clean look. Exterior venting also works great. I was able to pull app functionality into Home Assistant and am really taking advantage of what this microwave can do also added it to Google Home this way. HOWEVER there is no native support for Google Home so standard APP users are out of luck.

Great oven with some issues

As a microwave this works very well and has some very nice features that others have mentioned. I will add the not-so-nice things that I have not seen mentioned in other comments: - The vent trip piece is plastic. The trip on the oven door is stainless and scratch resistant but not the vent. See my photos of the scratches on the vent from day one. I dont know if those were there from shipping I didnt look that closely until after I had it installed as I thought it was stainless also or from me installing it but its really ugly and subpar that in zero hours of use I have these scratches. Really poor quality in materials selection LG. - Why can I not turn off the : and WiFi indicators on the screen? I can turn off the clock but the : still displays. There is no way to turn off the WiFi symbol except to disable the WiFi. I dont understand this. The face of this oven would be so clean without these nasty icons on. As it stands - When using the light or in my case the nightlight feature the screen/keypad stays illuminated. Why? Again a nice face is ruined by lighting everything up. Im really ticked off that the plastic is scratched and LG really cheaped out on that aspect of build quality. These other issues could be fixed with a software update but I suspect based on other interactions Ive had with LG they wont be as they dont care about their customers once they have their money. But if others are turned off by this now you know

Love the many baking features on the oven and how the stovetop heats up fast. Dissapointed with the air fryer. 1st of all it does not come with a drip pan which is a must for air frying. Also it does not cook meat on time with the set heat. My smaller air fryer still beats it by far and cooks as described with the cooking directions.

My other LG appliances stove refrigerator dishwasher Washer Dryer that I bought along with the microwave all can be linked with Alexa the microwave cant which is disappointing. I purchased this about a month ago and I must say Im more pleased with with every use. Yes its just a microwave but my old one was 9 years old and this has some really nice features. The LED stove top lighting is excellent power rating is just right with all the smart settings and I love the smooth modern design no handle. The exhaist fan moves a lot of air but it is a little noisy on highest setting quieter than my old one though. Im pleased with my purchase and would buy it again.

Installation issues and noisy microwave

I bought the microwave on May 1st and paid for installation from LG.com. The delivery of the unit was okay took more than 6 days but the delivery company did not install it. Both LG and the delivery company kept passing the buck on who was actually going to install it. After 12 phone calls and 6 hours on the phone with support I got it installed. The microwave works but is extremely loud and the inside compartment is smaller than I expected. I hope this doesnt break down because I have nightmares about dealing with another support person -- all polite but completely wrong about things -- they just say what you want to hear so you get off the phone.

Two of the best features are the controls on the bottom of the microwave rather than on the side and the range exhaust fan that pops open to cover the front range burners. My wife is short so the controls on the bottom make it easier for her to use without using a stool. Additionally we like that the controls lighting turn off after a few minutes after use so that all you see is the clock.

I have had this microwave for 3 weeks and find it so much better than my previous microwave. The modern slike look of tge door is outstanding. It cooks rapidly and the reheat function is very good. Great look but poor ventilation

Poor bottom suction lost to the top of the unit. There is a design issue with the unit when installed for roof venting default installation per installation manual. A lot of air is pulled from the top of the unit the charcoal filter area - see picture making the bottom suction really low After discussing with LG over chat there is no missing piece on my unit so it is a design issue. Will likely return and get a different brand

extendavent microwave

I love this microwave. I bought it mostly because of the extendavent but there is soooo much more to love. The controls are intuitive and so easy to use. Love the way it looks no handle or buttonsjust an expanse of black glass with a thin stainless frame. One of the features was easy cleanfingerprints just wipe off with a kitchen towel. They really do.

Big improvement

This microwave replaced our 12 year old appliance and we immediately noticed the changes. It is easy to use the controls are user friendly and the heat seems to be much more even than our old one. We especially like the LED light that wont burn out A welcome upgrade

Great features easy to use

I love the sleek look of this microwave in my kitchen. My only complaint is that the template for installation was not correct and made installation a bit of an issue. However once installed the microwave works like a charm I love that the guide is inside the door and Im not fumbling through a book to decipher the elusive codes as I did with my former product. There are many more options with this unit than my previously owned one and Im sure some Ill likely use very little if at all. BUT I love that I can now melt butter without over or under doing it It was a bit tricky to figure out how to get the display lights to engage without first opening the door and I discovered that quite by accident. Using at least 3 fingers swipe slowly right to left across the area where the display is located at the bottom of the door and the panel will engage. It might take a few tries until you get the hang of it but if works every time

Sleek design

I like the sleek design and control panel being hidden. However I hate when you have to press a few times to hit a butt9n in order for the panel to appear. It might be operator error. With having two kids I also didnt think about all the fingerprints so its constantly being cleaned.

Very much so far like SO much about this microwave. A second one from LG the first lasted 7 years and similar. Of course I wanted another. Sleek in looks and design many features I wanted were on this one. Easy to use and quick to learn whats not to like? I have a cabinet right next to where this microwave is mounted. The indentation which is on the right side of the microwave door is then blocked. In order to open it you must pull on the very top right corner. Man that stinks... I thought but I misread the tab at the bottom of the door opened it. No that just pops out the bottom vents. Trying to find a workaround or some sort of solution as it was totally installed before we discovered it. I know I am not the only one that has a cabinet flanking the stove so this should be brought to everyones attention.

So far I am very impressed with a microwave. The extended vent feature is great and not sure why this wasnt always one. Works great with any oven. The large inside capacity is great too. Still trying to figure out how to light up the buttons without opening the door. The LED oven light makes a huge difference our previous model was very dim. The slim design is very appealing and I really like the no handle feature. I really have nothing bad to say about it. Looking forward to many years of use.

Great above range microwave extendable exhaust

The LG above the range microwave oven is a nice improvement to my kitchen. The extendable exhaust hood makes a difference when cooking to exhaust food odors out of the house. The one major room for improvement related to installation is to replace the paper template with a rigid template such as a cardboard template. I had to use wood filler on the drilled cabinet holes due to the template not being accurate.
